“‘Electricity in Daily Life’ is a popular account of the application of electricity to every day uses by Cyrus F. Brackett, Franklin L. Pope, Joseph Wetzler, Henry Morton, Charles L. Buckingham, Herbert Laws Webb, W.S. Hughes, of the United States Navy; John Millis, of the Army; A. E. Kennelly and Dr. M. Allen Starr, Professor Bracket, of Princeton, contributes the chapters on electricity in the service of man. Other chapters are ‘The Electric Motor,’ by Professor Cope; ‘The Electric Railway,’ by the editor of the Electrical Engineer; ‘Electricity in Lightning,’ by Professor Morton; ‘The Telegraph of To-day,’ by Charles L. Buckingham, counsel for the Western Union Company; ‘The Making and Laying of a Cable,’ by the well-known practical electrician, Mr. Webb. Other chapters are devoted to the use of electricity in land and naval warfare, and a particularly interesting chapter is tht by Mr. Kennelly, the electrician of Mr. Edison’s laboratory, which tells of the household appliances that are controlled or regulated by electricity.
